GIVE ME A HUG

I started out on Monday with great intentions and stopped by a new customers store who makes the most wonderful cupcakes. You know how that ended.

Tuesday was the first day of the cleanse and I have to say, it went well. I didn’t feel hungry and the juices were tasty. I did want that toast and peanut butter at 10 pm and I realized that was a habit more than hunger. I resisted and here I am in day two. Just made my quinoa cereal and I want to say it is now my most favourite thing to eat in the morning. It is a great protein and fills you up for a longer time than a shake. I do feel lighter and ready to jump start a new 84 Day challenge on Wednesday. I am giving myself a big hug. It may not seem like a big hug moment to some but each day you stick to your plan, is a day for a hug.

TWO DAYS TO CLEANER

Here I am and I have to be honest, with my lifestyle and challenge with consistency the two week plan of cleansing was not working too well for me.  I was reading O magazine today and Dr. Oz has a two day cleanse that he says makes him feel cleaner, lighter and more spiritual! Now that is some cleanse and it doesn’t seem too difficult to prepare or eat. Some of it I have already incorporated into my eating plan. This is Sunday and I am going to enjoy my chicken and rice dinner and then tomorrow it is on to a two day cleanse. I wrote most of it on the Food For Thought page,  and if you want the recipes you can get the March issue of O or comment here so I know some one is reading the blog. LOL and I will send the entire recipe to you.

I will come back on Wednesday and tell you how I am feeling! Till then make life fun and delicious where ever or whatever life brings YOU….

WHEREVER YOU GO ~ THERE YOU ARE

Now some people would think that by making the statement, “It’s all about ME”, a selfish place to come from. How selfish is it to make your decisions about what you eat, how you move, where you go for fun ~ NOT.  Far too often we put ourselves at the bottom of our To Do List, I know I have and do. That is why I write, to remind myself of my Deliciously Empowering Self sitting right here! Where ever you go, there you are.

When we are strong and healthy and making decisions that put a smile on our face and glitter in our hearts, others feel and see this energy. It goes out beyond up like a pebble skipping across the lake.

If you are not feeling so happy today, check what things you may want to do a bit different. Think about where would your family be without YOU, where would your friends be without YOU.

You are the point of power and I say today, It is ALL about ME and for me today I Am having some fun, relaxing and reviving and creating a fantabulous healing meal for dinner.
What will you do today JUST FOR YOU~

OH where OH where did I go

Yes, a few days have passed and things got busy and where did I go? Not far away, I just got buried in the stack of papers and TO DO’s on my desk.  I was persistent and climbed my way out and HERE I AM!

I hope everyone is having fun sticking to their resolutions or what I am now calling my REVOLUTION! I am revolting against fat foods, fast foods, GM foods, and getting back to the basics. I was having some ‘issues’ trying to keep up with the choices on the Whole Living Cleanse. I realized the value in ‘keeping it simple’ and not sweating about diversity, colour or anything else that would prevent me from staying on the path of honouring my TEMPLE and feeding it well.

For me, it is having things ready and accessible in those times when cooking is not an option. I went and bought little grape tomatoes, little containers of cottage cheese and bite size veggies. Yay! Love my new Lock n Lock’s for keeping things fresh and cut my prep time down considerably. I also found that I wanted apple sauce and found a great way to have fresh apple sauce in seconds….

I take two apples, put them in my Vitamix with a touch of water and cinnamon and in a few whips around the blender, I have fresh apple sauce no sugar or additives. If I am craving a sweet I go for the apple sauce. A doctor a day keeps the doctor away! AND as I am sitting here typing with The Shopping Channel on the TV, it is promoting the Vitamix….oh will have to go and see what recipes they are going to prepare. Yes, my Vitamix can make hot soup in minutes……Have a fabulously delicious week-end every one who is reading this! Feel free to comment any time so I know you are out there.

I like my hair, I like my arms, I like my thighs, I like my belly…

After writing about self loving this morning I had to post this video on my VIDEO page…….go watch it when you need to re-member!

FAST IS NOT ALWAYS A GOOD THING

This morning I woke up and thinking about my body size and how the heck could I give some of it away. (looking for the fast-track)  I researched what people who have  by-pass surgery eat, thinking that if I ate their diet I wouldn’t put my body through such a drastic procedure.

My hat goes off to all those people with the courage to make that decision because reading what they eat AMAZED me. NOTHING really. I think I would rather go on a 40 day fast in India and at least have a beautiful, peaceful surrounding and tap in to my God Source at a deeper level.

“Love Yourself exactly as you are ” –  are the words I am hearing in my head cause girls and boys—-drinking 2 oz of liquid every 30 minutes for the first 10 days and baby food for the following 10 days is STARVING YOUR TEMPLE.  Yes, we are a temple and, first things first; we want to remember to LOVE our temple and cherish who we are now in this moment.

Louise Hay’s affirmations repeated every 30 minutes during the day would be as beneficial to change the story in our heads and teach us to take it easy, slow and gentle.  I love myself exactly as I am in this moment. I am loved and protected. In my world all is good!

We always find the time to give a little love and support to others, so why is it so challenging to give ourselves the same.  My homeopath  asked me if I was spending time with my knees.  I said yes I do self-healing and then TODAY, in a moment of deep thought; I realized that it is more than my knees I want to spend time with.

REVELATION: Sit quietly and ‘really’ talk to our bodies or body parts we fight with.  Yes, fight with. We want peace with our bodies and through peace and love we conquer fear of loving and fear of making those steps to owning our power in the situation.  Hug yourself and touch the parts that you may want to feel and look different. Have a discussion your body and tell it that You love it exactly as it is, every wrinkle, every curve and I THINK that if we do this every day for five minutes we will begin to do things to show how much we truly love ourselves like feeding it good healthy food from mother earth, walking and moving and hanging out in the fresh air with the trees and mother earth. I bet if we did this every day we would automatically and maybe ‘magically’ start to see a shape shifting. Maybe we will require more than five minutes, perhaps five minutes every hour but you get the message…….repetition, repetition, repetition till it becomes our belief system.

YES, accept who we are and what we have right now in this moment because we made it exactly the way it is and so we can also change it to be exactly what we want.

How High do YOU Vibrate

Click on the cute little beans and they will dance for you! They are vibrating!

Now you might be asking what does this have to do with being healthy and inspired to be delicious making healthy choices, and I say…..we are all a source of energy and how high our energy vibrates determines how easily we flow through life.  Being the Beautiful Bodacious Succulent Diva that I Am, and have been for many years; my knees started a revolution of their own a few years back. This makes walking distances a little challenging with a smile on.

I looked for options in movement and fell in love with the Vibration machine several months ago.  It is fantastic for circulation, clearing your lymph system and gentle on the knees. I noticed I was re-aligning my spine and walking straighter. The other day I watched a program on Body Blades and liked it so much, I bought one. It has only been two days and I can feel it working. It also oscillates as you shake it in either a standing or sitting position it works all your muscles in a matter of minutes and raises your vibration.

I am happy because I have to be honest, I have detoured just a little from my cleanse and it has turned into a healthy plan of eating. Today I went for lunch with the girls at an Indian restaurant we love and I decided to make this my 80/20 day. One Step back….Two Steps forward.  Remember the turtle won the race and so I am grateful for the awareness I am creating and the wish to make Healthy Choices! Have a deliciously empowering weekend!

12 SKINNY FOODS

Having a totally delicious day interacting with new friends and trying out my new Body Blade. I am happy that it is a functional tool in working the muscles as I was concerned watching it on TV with trainers doing the exercises, they would make it look easier than it is. I can feel the pull in only a minute. Exciting!

Got this today in an email and thought I would share the 12 Skinny Foods we can incorporate in our healthy eating plan. Have fun!

Shrimp - At just 8 calories a pop, shrimp are a top-notch source of lean protein,  which helps rev your metabolism and suppress your appetite.

Grape Tomatoes - One cup of grape tomatoes clocks in at only 30 calories. These bite-sized nibbles are sweet, colorful, and ideal for snacking since you can pop ‘em in your mouth one at a time. And, because they’re so low in calories, you can munch to your heart’s content!

Egg Whites - Egg whites are pure, high-quality protein and just 17 calories apiece, which makes them the ideal ingredient for a low-cal breakfast with real staying power.

Natural Flavoured Seltzer - If you’re bored with plain old water, try naturally-flavored seltzer — carbonated water with a shot of fruit flavor. It’s completely calorie-free, fizzes like soda, and comes in fun flavors like green apple, cherry, pomegranate… even vanilla and white chocolate! And it’s one of the “cleanest” drinks around — it doesn’t contain sugar, artificial sweeteners, food dyes, or anything else.

Whole Grain Sandwich Thins - Sandwich thins and flats are the best thing since… well, sliced bread! That’s because you get TWO halves for the same calorie count as ONE slice of regular bread (100 calories). Use these versatile, whole grain buns to build turkey or chicken sandwiches, or lightly spread them with nut butter or reduced-fat cream cheese for a smart bagel substitute.

Cucumbers - Cucumbers are one of the all-time best foods for fighting bloating because they’re loaded with water and naturally low in sodium (taking in extra water while halting salt reduces water retention). Plus, they’re a terrific calorie bargain; you can gobble up an entire cuke for just 45 calories. When you get the urge to munch between meals, slice one up into “chips” to squelch your appetite in a hurry.

Salsa - With less than 20 calories per ¼ cup, salsa is a dieter’s best friend. Bottled or fresh, salsa makes a zesty, low-cal dip for crunchy veggies like baby carrots and celery sticks. It’s also the ultimate slimming condiment for sandwiches, burgers, and baked potatoes.

Popcorn - One cup of “naked” air-popped popcorn (without any added butter or oil) has only 30 calories! If you don’t own an air popper, you can make plain popcorn right in your microwave. Add 4 tablespoons popcorn kernels to a brown paper lunch bag, fold over the edge of the bag twice to close it, and microwave the bag on high for 1.5 to 2 minutes

Hot Sauce - Research shows that including spicy foods at meals suppresses your appetite and slightly revs up the metabolism, so hot sauce is doubly deserving of the “skinny food” title. Add this fiery condiment anywhere you can — sprinkle it on eggs, add a few dashes to soups and stews, or mix it into hummus to kick up the heat.

Water Chestnuts - These under-the-radar veggies offer super satisfying crunch — a texture a lot of dieters crave after giving up potato chips and other snack foods. You can munch your way through a whole can for just 50 calories. They’re also super low in sodium, unlike most canned foods, so they won’t make you bloated.

Grapefruit - Grapefruit are refreshing, hydrating, and sweet, and one of the few seasonal winter fruits. One large grapefruit runs you just 120 calories and, since you eat the flesh one segment at a time, it automatically helps pace your eating.

Frozen Cherries (Something I have never had and am going to try) - Frozen cherries are a skinny solution to sugar cravings. Snack on these deliciously sweet gems right out of the freezer bag — they’re like a healthy version of cherry Italian ices. You can enjoy ¾ cup of these icy treats for just 110 cals, and because they’re frozen and take awhile to eat, you’ll stretch out your snack time.

When your having fun time fly’s

Earlier I was on my way to blog and then found myself somewhere else and now looked at the clock and realized it was already the next day. Well, it was a delicious day today. Lots of great conversation, sunshine and breeze outside, yummy salad for dinner and even got to my vibration machine. How cool is that. Now, I know that rest is as important as I sit here typing at 1 am in the morning but I committed to being here everyday and I am doing my best to hold myself accountable. Because of the hour I will end my babbling and tomorrow, well I guess today; will get a little more inspiring…..Night all!
